This seminar informs electrical contractors about the
opportunities in providing protection for electronic appliances in
homes and businesses. A review of the many devices that may be
damaged by electrical surges will be presented, followed by a
discussion of the improper wiring and grounding that will lead to
severe damage to this equipment. Updates in the 2008 National
Electric Code related to applications of surge protection devices
will be presented. The seminar will conclude with an overview of
how to select and apply surge protection in the electric system to
greatly reduce the incidence of damage from lightning and electrical
surges to a customer’s equipment in compliance with the National
Electric Code. |
