| This
session will review many of the more significant changes in the new NEC.
Grounding and Bonding rules will be covered by reviewing the rules for
connecting a derived electric system. A typical 480 volt to 120/208 transformer
installation will be used as a case study.
Many rules related to receptacles were
revised, and they will be covered in detail. This review includes an overview
of the requirements for GFCI’s, AFCI’s, Tamper Resistant, and Waterproof
devices. Some changes will impact temporary construction wiring on the job site
as well as marinas.
The session will
also focus on applications of small generators for Residential installations.
We will cover considerations for selecting a generator, legal options for
installing a generator with or without a transfer switch, interconnection
issues, and new code requirements for small generators. |
